Privacy policy

We take the protection of your data seriously. This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit coltbjjacademy.com, contact us or use the members app, and what your rights are. It is based on Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Romanian data protection law (Law no. 190/2018).

2. In short

• This website uses no advertising cookies, no analytics and no tracking (no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel).
• We do not sell or rent your data.
• Data is only processed to deliver the website securely, to answer your requests and to manage memberships.

3. Visiting the website and hosting

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) on its global network. On every visit, technical data is processed automatically: IP address, date and time, page visited, browser and operating system, referring website. It is used only to deliver the website and keep it secure (for example against attacks), and is kept for a limited period.

This data may be processed in the United States. Such transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards (in particular the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses). Cloudflare may set cookies that are strictly necessary for security; they are not used for advertising or tracking.

Fonts are hosted on our own website: no data is sent to Google Fonts.

4. Google Maps

To show you where to find us, the page embeds a Google Maps map (Google Ireland Ltd., Ireland / Google LLC, USA). When the map loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive among other things your IP address and may set cookies. This processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy. You can also use the “Directions” link or our address above without loading the map.

5. Contact by email, phone or WhatsApp

If you write to us or call us, we process the data you provide (name, contact details, message) to answer your request, for example about classes, the free first class, memberships or the invitation code for the app. Our email is hosted by GoDaddy (GoDaddy.com, LLC, USA).

The WhatsApp button opens the WhatsApp app. If you contact us that way, your messages are processed by WhatsApp (Meta) under its privacy policy. If you prefer, contact us by email or phone instead.

6. Members app (MatSync)

For bookings, attendance, belt progress and memberships we use the MatSync app. If you become a member and create an account with the club’s invitation code, the data in your account (name, contact details, bookings, attendance, belt and stripes, membership and payments) is processed in MatSync on the club’s behalf to manage your membership. For children and teenagers, data is provided and managed by a parent or guardian.

7. Social media

Our website only contains simple links to our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts; no content from these platforms is embedded. They only receive data if you click a link and open their platform.

8. How long we keep data

Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request and, where applicable, for the duration of your membership, and are then deleted unless the law requires us to keep them (for example for accounting). Technical hosting data is kept only for a limited period.

9. Legal basis

We process data based on our legitimate interest in running a secure website and answering requests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, for memberships, on steps prior to or the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), as well as legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

10. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Write to us at info@coltbjjacademy.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP (Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal), B-dul G-ral. 11. Changes

We may update this policy, for example when we add a new feature to the website. The version published on this page applies.
